Feather River West Levee Program, Yuba City, CA

Throughout a multi-phase project, our team constructed over 38 miles of levee improvements along the Feather River in northern California to bring the area into federal and state compliance for levees protecting urban areas. The work, which required a large amount of specialty cutoff wall equipment, including four Komatsu PC1250s, one 1466 Koehring, one CAT 365, and one CAT 385 excavators each with custom long reach booms and sticks, involved a combination of soil-bentonite (SB) cutoff walls, soil-cement-bentonite (SCB) cutoff walls, seepage berms, and relief wells adjacent to navigable waterways. To ensure we complied with environmental regulations, we also implemented a comprehensive stormwater pollution prevention plan.
